Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 104

Scripture Passage: Deuteronomy 33:1-30
A Good Leader Uses Positive Words
As Moses approached the day that he would die, he began to speak a blessing over the children of Israel. He knew that the words of a leader carry power so with his words he reversed the negative situations facing the children of Israel. He began with Reuben and said, “Let Reuben live and not die; and let not his men be few.” Reuben had initially been cursed by his father, Jacob, but Moses spoke words that reversed the effect of that curse.
The lesson here is this; a good leader uses positive words. He uses words that build up people and not words that break them down. He understands that the words of a leader carry power therefore he chooses to use words to empower those he leads. His words inspire and motivate those he leads. His words give hope.
Prayer: Father, help me to use words that build up those I lead.
