Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 106

Scripture Passage: Joshua 1:7, 9 & 18
Leaders Require Strength and Courage
One of the first things God told Joshua as he took over the leadership of Israel from Moses was, “Be strong and of a good courage.” God did not stop there, He repeated, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage.” Then the people themselves said to Joshua, “Only be strong and of a good courage.”
The lesson here is this; leaders require strength and courage. And no leader can fulfil his vision without strength and courage. The word strong means able to withstand force or pressure. The word courageous means to be brave and undeterred by danger or pain. Leaders need strength to withstand the pressures that come with leading and courage not to quit even in the face of danger.
Prayer: Father, release upon me strength and courage.
