Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 109

Scripture Passage: Joshua 1:8
Leaders Succeed When They Know What to Do and Do What They Know
God’s instruction to Joshua was, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” In other words, Joshua was to know the book of the law so that he could do what was written in it. The result of which would be a good success.
The lesson here is this; leaders succeed because they know what to do and they do what they know. A leader who knows but does not do will fail as will a leader who acts but without knowledge. However, when a leader knows what to do and does it, success is guaranteed. It has been said that wisdom is knowing what to do and doing it.
Prayer: Father, help me to know what to do and to do what I know.
