Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 115

Scripture Passage: Joshua 3:1; 6:12; 6:15
Leaders Begin Their Day Early
The Bible says concerning Joshua, “And Joshua rose early in the morning and they removed from Shittim.” It also says, “And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.” Finally, “And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day.”
The lesson here is this; leaders begin their day early. This is to ensure that they maximise their day and indeed many studies have tied success to waking up early. Leaders get up before it is dawn and before others are up to plan the activities for the day in solitude where they can focus without distraction. Jesus, the greatest leader that lived had a habit of getting up before day and going into a solitary place to pray. Those who love sleep are seldom productive.
Prayer: Father, give me grace to begin my day early.
