Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 119

Scripture Passage: Joshua 10:1-26
Wise Leaders Know That It Is Possible to Win Without Fighting
When the kings on the other side of Jordan heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai they gathered themselves together to fight against Joshua and Israel. The Gibeonites on the other hand, tricked Joshua and Israel into making a league with them. The first group were destroyed but the lives of the Gibeonites were spared. Certainly, the Gibeonites were a wise people. They won the battle without fighting.
The lesson here is this; wise leaders know that it is possible to win without fighting. And they know how to win without ever having to fight. These leaders understand that not every battle must be fought especially when one lacks the ability to win. They know themselves and they know the opposition. Therefore, they know when they can fight and win and when they need to refrain from fighting and employ other means to achieve victory.
Prayer: Father, give me the wisdom to know how to win without fighting.
