Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 124

Scripture Passage: Joshua 10:12-25
Leaders Are Motivators
In the battle against the five kings of the Amorites, Joshua was an inspiration to those he led. In the sight of all Israel, he commanded the sun and moon to stand still and they did. He encouraged his army to pursue after their enemies and assured them of victory. He asked them to put their feet upon the necks of the five kings and said, “fear not nor be dismayed, be strong and of a good courage; for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.” Indeed Joshua gave Israel courage to achieve a common goal.
The lesson here is this; leaders are motivators. They motivate their people to reach set goals, and not only by the things they say but also by the things they do. Their people succeed because they have a leader who declares and demonstrates that it is possible.
Prayer: Father, help me to motivate those I lead.
