Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 131

Scripture Passage: Judges 3:9-11
Leaders Bring Rest
One of the major characteristics of Othniel’s reign and indeed that of the Judges after him was rest. The Bible says, “The Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel ….and the land had rest forty years.” Whenever a judge emerged Israel had rest.
The lesson here is this; leaders bring rest. And rest is important for a people because it does not only aid advancement and development, but it also aids the recovery of that which was lost during a time of crisis. Therefore, leaders must strive to ensure rest for those they lead.
Prayer: Father, show me how to bring rest to those I lead.
