Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 155

Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 4:5-10
The Leader Makes All the Difference
When the ark of God arrived on the battle field, Israel shouted for joy but the Philistines mourned. God had destroyed Israel’s enemies in times past. Now He was on the battle field with Israel. The Philistines were sure it spelt doom for them. However, they had a leader who would not quit and was ready to fight until the end. His men were already faint but he ordered them to fight like men. They fought and the ark was captured.
The lesson here is this; the leader makes all the difference. He determines the success or failure of his team. Charles Maurice de Talleyrand said, “I am more afraid of an army of 100 sheep led by a lion than an army of 100 lions led by a sheep.” And Alexander the great is quoted to have said, “An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep.”
Prayer: Father, make me a lion leader.
