Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 156

Scripture Passage: Exodus 17:10-13
All Leaders Require an Inner Circle
While Joshua fought against Amalek, Moses went up to the top of the hill with Aaron and Hur. The Bible says; “And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses hands were heavy…..and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands…..and Joshua discomfited Amalek.” They supported Moses until Israel won.
The lesson here is this; all leaders require an inner circle. The inner circle is a support network for the leader. They “hold up” his hands spiritually and otherwise until the team wins. Jesus had Peter, James and John. They usually accompanied Him to the mountain to pray. Leaders are human and will need help at some point. Therefore, they require an inner circle they can share their burdens with. These are people who have committed to hold up the leader’s hands until the team wins.
Prayer: Father, bring me men and women who will hold up my hands until everyone wins.
