Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 192

Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 23:15-18
Those Who Won’t Fight With the Leader Won’t Reign With the Leader
Jonathan wanted David to be king. He said to David, “Fear not…thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee…” However, he was not willing to fight by David’s side to see this vision fulfilled. When he had spoken to David, the Bible says, “And Jonathan went to his house.” He never saw David again. He never reigned with David. He died beside Saul in battle; fighting a good cause but on the wrong side and with the wrong king.
The lesson here is this; those who won’t fight with the leader won’t reign with the leader. This is because we get out of life exactly what we put into it. What we sow is what we reap. If we believe in a leader and our place with him, we must fight by his side to secure it or we lose it to another.
Prayer: Father, show me the leader to follow per time.
