Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 243

Scripture Passage: Proverbs 31:10-31
Great Women Are Initiators
The Proverbs 31 Woman is an example of a God fearing woman. She is also an example of an industrious woman. She is an example to many women. Without any doubt, this woman is a leader. The Bible says concerning her, “She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.” This is not a woman waiting for her good to come to her. No, she is daily reaching for it.
The lesson here is this; great women are initiators. They are proactive. They are seekers. They do not wait for work to come to them. Nor do they wait to be offered employment. They look for something to do. Great women do not sit at home bemoaning a lack of job. They seek work and when they find it, they work willingly, not out of compulsion. Great women possess a great attitude to work. Great women are leaders.
Prayer: Father, help me to be proactive.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 242

Scripture Passage: Proverbs 31:10-31
Great Women Can be Trusted
The Proverbs 31 Woman has always been an example of what a God fearing woman should be. She is an example to many women. She is without any doubt a leader. The Bible says concerning her, “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
The lesson here is this; great women can be trusted. And first by those closest to them. They understand that trust is a vital part of every relationship and so they do nothing to break trust with their husbands or anyone else. A great woman follows her husband’s leadership without rebellion or criticism. She knows that only good followers can be good leaders. Her words and actions are in congruence, therefore her husband and indeed all around her are able to trust her. Great women are leaders.
Prayer: Father, help me to be trustworthy.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 241

Scripture Passage: Proverbs 31:10-31
Great Women Are Sought After
The Proverbs 31 Woman has always been an example of what a God fearing woman should be. This woman is many things to many women who try to emulate her in every way. She is without any doubt a leader and there are lessons that other women can learn from studying her life. The Bible says concerning her, “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” This suggests that she is rare and therefore sought after.
The lesson here is this; Great women are sought after. They are extraordinary women. They are always in high demand, because of the qualities they possess which cause them to stand out from the crowd. They are different. They are a rare breed. And they are comfortable being different, they do not seek to blend in, but to stand out. They are true leaders; setting the pace and blazing the trail wherever they go.
Prayer: Father, help me to be stand out in all my endeavours.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 240

Scripture Passage: Numbers 27:3-8
Great Women Are Bold and Fearless
Zelophehad had no sons. But he had five bold and fearless daughters who were determined that their late father’s possession would not pass to his brethren as was the custom. After his death, they stood before Moses and the entire congregation of Israel and said, “Our father died…..and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away….because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.” Notice that they did not say, “Will you give us? Is it possible?” No, they placed a demand on Moses. They said, “Give us.” And Moses gave them.
The lesson here is this; Great women are bold and fearless. They are able to stand before anyone and state their case without trepidation. They declare what they want with boldness and without mincing words. And more often than not they get it.
Prayer: Father, help me to be bold and fearless.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 239

Scripture Passage: Numbers 27:3-8
Great Women Are Liberators
Zelophehad had no sons. This meant that his inheritance would go to his brethren. But his five daughters did not agree with this. After his death, they came before Moses and the entire congregation of Israel and said, “Our father died…..and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away….because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.” And God said to Moses, “The daughters of Zelophehad speak right….give them a possession….among their father’s brethren….and….speak unto the children of Israel…..if a man die, and have no son……cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.” They challenged the status quo, and liberated themselves and others with them.
The lesson here is this; great women are liberators. They don’t sit around waiting to be liberated from life’s challenges. Instead, they confront the challenges that face them and liberate not only themselves but others with them.
Prayer: Father, give me the courage to liberate myself and others around me.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 238

Scripture Passage: Numbers 27:3-8
Great Women Challenge the Status Quo
Zelophehad had no sons. He had five daughters. After his death, they came before Moses and the entire congregation of Israel and said, “Our father died…..and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away….because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.” And God said to Moses, “The daughters of Zelophehad speak right….give them a possession….among their father’s brethren….and….speak unto the children of Israel…..if a man die, and have no son……cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.” They challenged the status quo and changed it not only for themselves but for other women.
The lesson here is this; Great women challenge the status quo. They never accept it. These five women did not accept the status quo, that only a man could inherit his father’s possession, rather they challenged it and changed it. And they achieved this because they were bold.
Prayer: Father, give me the boldness to challenge every unfavourable status quo.

Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 237

Scripture Passage: Numbers 27:3-8
Great Women are an Inspiration to Other Women
Zelophehad had five daughters. They were unusual women. After the death of their father, they said to Moses, “Our father died…..and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away….because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.” Moses turned to the Lord for guidance and God said. “The daughters of Zelophehad speak right….give them a possession….among their father’s brethren….and….speak unto the children of Israel…..if a man die, and have no son……cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.”
The lesson here is this; great women are an inspiration to other women. Every time I read the story of the daughters of Zelophehad, I am deeply inspired. Their story makes a complete nonsense of gender inequality which many women use as an excuse for inaction. Yes, their story sends this short but powerful message to all women, “you can too, because you’re a woman.”
Prayer: Father, make me an inspiration to other women.
