Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 230

Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 1:1-27
Great Women Keep their Words
Hannah was childless and desired a child. She entered the temple and poured out her heart to God and finished by making Him a promise. If He would give her a male child, then she would give that child back to Him. God granted her request and Samuel was born. As much as Hannah cherished her baby she was determined to keep her word. Therefore, she took him to the house of the Lord and said to Eli the priest, “for this child I prayed and the Lord hath given me my petition….therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord.”
The lesson here is this; great women keep their words. Even when it takes a great personal sacrifice. Strength of character is a major requirement in keeping one’s word and great women possess strength of character. You can count on them to honour their vows.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to keep my words.
