Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 235

Scripture Passage: Judges 4:1-21
Great Women Are Bold and Fearless
Deborah was a prophetess. She prophesied Israel’s victory but Barak did not believe her. He was afraid and said to her, “If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.” Deborah responded, “I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” This woman was Jael. She killed Sisera. Barak lost his honour to a woman because of fear.
The lesson here is this; great women are bold and fearless. Both women mentioned in this story were not afraid. Deborah was not afraid to go to war and Jael was not afraid to kill Sisera. Fear has nothing to do with gender. If you are fearful it is not because you are a woman. Fear is not synonymous with femininity. Great women are fearless.
Prayer: Father, help me to be bold and fearless.
