Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 262

Scripture Passage: Esther 2:1-17
Great Women Understand Contentment
The Bible says concerning Esther, “Now when the turn of Esther…….was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed.” Esther required nothing but what was appointed. This speaks of contentment.
The lesson here is this; great women understand contentment. They know that things do not make a person. The Bible says that godliness with contentment is great gain. Great women recognise this. Therefore, whatever they have per time, they are satisfied, they are at peace, they are happy and above all, they are grateful. Those who are not content are never grateful for what they have. They spend all their lives in self-imposed misery seeking that which they do not have (blind to what they do have) and as such it continues to elude them. But those who understand contentment and are grateful for what they have per time, always receive more. Esther received favour, and the crown.
Prayer: Father, help me to live in contentment and gratitude.
