Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 275

Scripture Passage: Nehemiah 6:1-4
Leaders Stick to Their Convictions
When Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem to rebuild the walls, Sanballat and Tobiah opposed him and sought to distract him from the job at hand. On one occasion, they requested that he meet with them, but Nehemiah answered thus, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down; why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?” They didn’t stop there, the Bible says, “Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.”
The lesson here is this; leaders stick to their convictions. The opposition will keep on opposing the leader but the leader must stick to what he believes. The leader who stands for nothing will fall for everything.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to stand up for what I believe.
