Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 283

Scripture Passage: Nehemiah 2:11-18
Leaders Gain Clarity Before They Communicate the Vision
When Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem, he did not immediately communicate the vision to rebuild the broken down walls. Instead, he went out by night by the gate of the valley and viewed the walls. While he was in Shushan the palace, he had received news about the broken down walls but he did not know to what extent the walls had been damaged. He had to view the area himself and gain a better understanding of the situation at hand before communicating the vision to those who would help him rebuild the walls.
The lesson here is this; leaders gain clarity before they communicate the vision. This is to ensure that they have a proper understanding of the journey they are asking others to embark on with them. Leaders must have made the trip first in their minds before asking anyone else to go with them.
Prayer: Father, give me wisdom and patience to understand a task before communicating same to others.
