Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 293

Scripture Passage: Job 1:1-22; 2:1-10
Uncommon Leaders Retain Their Integrity Even in Crisis
The Bible refers to Job as “the greatest of all men in the east.” Job was not only a great man; he was also a man with integrity. In introducing Job, the Bible says; “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and eschewed evil.” Many people appear to be upright but a crisis situation soon causes the mask to drop. This was not the case with Job and at some point his wife said to him, “dost thou still retain thine integrity?” But Job rebuked her and Job did not sin.
The lesson here is this; uncommon leaders retain their integrity even in crisis. Anyone can retain their integrity when all is well, but it takes an extraordinary person to retain their integrity when going through the storms of life. A crisis will always reveal the leader’s true character.
Prayer: Father, help me to become a person with integrity.
