Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 322

Scripture Passage: Mark 9:38-40; 14:42-46
Not Everyone in Your Boat is Rowing in the Same Direction
The disciples of Jesus once met a man who did the works of Jesus, albeit not a disciple. They wanted to forbid him but Jesus said, “he that is not against us is on our part.” After this, Judas, a disciple, betrayed Jesus to those who killed Him. He was with Jesus but clearly against Him.
The lesson here is this; not everyone in your boat is rowing in the same direction. There are those in your boat who will row in the same direction. Then there are those not in your boat who will row in the same direction. And there are those not in your boat who will not row in the same direction. And finally, there are those in your boat who will not row in the same direction. Every leader has at least one of this kind; for Caesar it was Brutus, for Jesus it was Judas. These are the people you need to wary of.
Prayer: Father, give me discernment.
