Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 328

Scripture Passage: Luke 6:27-29
The Leader Who Desires to Make Progress Must Learn to Forgive
Jesus taught saying, “But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also…” This entire teaching can be summarised this way, “forgive all.”
The lesson here is this; the leader who desires to make progress must learn to forgive. Forgiveness births peace. Where there is peace, there is progress and where there is chaos there is anything but progress. No one advances looking back and he who seeks to keep another down must remain down. Therefore, if a leader will fulfil his vision, he must be ready to forgive offences, because a desire to retaliate will break his focus and ultimately destroy his vision. Forgiveness is key to successful leadership.
Prayer: Father, help me to forgive.
