Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 330

Scripture Passage: Matthew 12:22-26
Wise Leaders Recognise the Tremendous Power in Unity
Once, the Pharisees accused Jesus of having a devil. Jesus in turn used this opportunity to teach a powerful leadership lesson. The Bible say, “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.” The popular saying, “united we stand, divided we fall,” comes to mind.
The lesson here is this; wise leaders recognise the tremendous power in unity. For this reason, a wise leader works hard to develop and maintain harmony amongst members of his team. People are able to achieve more when they work as a team than when they work individually. Leadership guru, John Maxwell, has said that one is too small of a number to achieve significance. However, if they are not united, they may as well be alone. The vision to build the tower of Babel could not be stopped until disunity crept in.
Prayer: Father, help me to live in harmony with myself and others.
