Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 331

Scripture Passage: Luke 22:31-32
Leaders Are Also Intercessors
Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not.” Jesus, the greatest leader that ever walked the face of the earth, prayed for those He led.
The lesson here is this; leaders are also intercessors. It has been said that prayer changes things and great leaders recognise this truth. Peter was the disciple chosen to receive the baton from Jesus and Peter would have failed woefully but Jesus prayed for him. As a result of the prayer of Jesus, Peter was able to pick up the baton handed to him by his master and run with it successfully. Today, Jesus has over two billion followers because Peter didn’t fail. And Peter didn’t fail because Jesus prayed for him. Are you praying for those you lead? Remember, the leader who cares, prays.
Prayer: Father, help me to intercede for those I lead.
