Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 332

Scripture Passage: Luke 22:35-38
Good Leaders Prepare Their People for Change
On the night that Jesus was arrested, He had the following conversation with His disciples. “When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, nothing. Then said he unto them, but now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” Things would be different after Jesus left and He tried to prepare His followers for this reality.
The lesson here is this; good leaders prepare their people for change. Nothing stays the same for ever. At some point in the pursuit of vision, things are bound to change. It is the leader’s duty to foresee any changes that may lie ahead and prepare his followers for the same. Change is not necessarily a bad thing, but when people are unprepared for it, it can become dreadful.
Prayer: Father, help me to embrace change and prepare those I lead to do same.
