Leadership Lessons Daily: Day 347

Scripture Passage: Matthew 2:1-2

Great Leaders Are Sought After by the Wise

The Bible says, “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” At the birth of Jesus, wise men travelled from the east to Jerusalem seeking Him. They discerned that a great leader had arrived on the scene. And they knew it was beneficial to them and their destiny that they meet with Him. Distance was not a barrier for them. It has been said that the journey of the wise men was about 1,000 miles.

The lesson here is this; Great leaders are sought after by the wise. Wise people will always seek out great leaders who can speak into their lives or add value to them. Today, there are many great leaders in the world and wise men still travel many miles to seek them.

Prayer: Father, give me discernment that I may identify great leaders of my day. And give me wisdom to seek them.
