DOZ Show Episode 116 – Jackqueline Mondo Apinyi

Jackqueline Mondo Apinyi is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She was born in Uganda and raised in Kenya after her family fled the civil war of Uganda in 1979. Her family had humble beginnings, her mother was an early years teacher and her father a soldier who rose to the rank of Major General. At the age of 15, her father took a post in Russia and sent her along with her siblings to boarding school in the UK. Adjusting to the UK system of education was challenging for her and it didn’t help that she had no friends. The teachers said she was dull and would be a better off as a homemaker. Jackqueline experienced rejection and sibling rivalry and was constantly seeking acceptance by bleaching her skin and looking for love in all the wrong places. Her self-esteem was affected. But her esteem soared when she was able to finish university and get married, two things she had been told repeatedly would never happen. But adversity was not done with her, over the years she has lost a child to heart defect, received the shocking news that her children were autistic, survived stroke and heart surgery, and a six-year separation from her husband. But she is standing strong and has founded Woman Arise and Be Healed, a platform through which she encourages women who are going through trauma or have been through traumatic experiences. Aramide Fadiora is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a business woman, author and minister who has a passion for the empowerment of women, particularly women in business and ministry. She is the Founder of Ladies Driven by Purpose, a platform designed to encourage and build women spiritually and to challenge barriers in communities. As a young child she lost the use of her legs and was unable to attend school as a result. She thought she would never walk, never get an education, and never see her dreams materialise. But then one day, by a miracle, she was walking. And now she is walking in her ‘stilettos’. She is an ordained pastor, a nurse for over 15 years, serial entrepreneur, award-winning international speaker, international best-selling author, talk show host, educator, youth advocate, beauty queen, business consultant and political strategist. She is also, the Executive Director of the Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC). In May 2019, she received an honorary Doctoral Degree in Ministry and was ordained as a pastor by the Trinity Theological Seminary of South Florida in Pompano Beach, FL. She holds a number of leadership roles in various nonprofit, civic, and professional nursing associations/organizations and has received a number of awards for her dedication to public service. Julie Gorman is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a Certified Coach, Trainer, and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team. In addition, she is a writer, producer, and host of a weekly Broadcast and founder of His Love Extended Ministries. She is the author of What I Wish My Mother Had Told Me About Men and What I Wish My Mother Had Told Me about Marriage released in 2013 and 2014 respectively. In 2016 and 2018, she co-authored along with her husband the books, Two Are Better than One and Married for a Purpose. Along with her husband she runs the ministry, Married for a Purpose. Julie has spoken to youth, college students, and adults since 1988. Her passion is to minister to the WHOLE person. She is married to her best friend, Greg and they have three children. In this interview Julie shares with us the abuse she suffered as a child and how she moved past that experience to the blessed life she now enjoys.
