DOZ Show Episode 116 – Jackqueline Mondo Apinyi

Jackqueline Mondo Apinyi is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She was born in Uganda and raised in Kenya after her family fled the civil war of Uganda in 1979. Her family had humble beginnings, her mother was an early years teacher and her father a soldier who rose to the rank of Major General. At the age of 15, her father took a post in Russia and sent her along with her siblings to boarding school in the UK. Adjusting to the UK system of education was challenging for her and it didn’t help that she had no friends. The teachers said she was dull and would be a better off as a homemaker. Jackqueline experienced rejection and sibling rivalry and was constantly seeking acceptance by bleaching her skin and looking for love in all the wrong places. Her self-esteem was affected. But her esteem soared when she was able to finish university and get married, two things she had been told repeatedly would never happen. But adversity was not done with her, over the years she has lost a child to heart defect, received the shocking news that her children were autistic, survived stroke and heart surgery, and a six-year separation from her husband. But she is standing strong and has founded Woman Arise and Be Healed, a platform through which she encourages women who are going through trauma or have been through traumatic experiences. Aramide Fadiora is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a business woman, author and minister who has a passion for the empowerment of women, particularly women in business and ministry. She is the Founder of Ladies Driven by Purpose, a platform designed to encourage and build women spiritually and to challenge barriers in communities. As a young child she lost the use of her legs and was unable to attend school as a result. She thought she would never walk, never get an education, and never see her dreams materialise. But then one day, by a miracle, she was walking. And now she is walking in her ‘stilettos’. Dr. Fayola Delica is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is an ordained pastor, a nurse for over 15 years, serial entrepreneur, award-winning international speaker, international best-selling author, talk show host, educator, youth advocate, beauty queen, business consultant and political strategist. She is also, the Executive Director of the Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC). In May 2019, she received an honorary Doctoral Degree in Ministry and was ordained as a pastor by the Trinity Theological Seminary of South Florida in Pompano Beach, FL. She holds a number of leadership roles in various nonprofit, civic, and professional nursing associations/organizations and has received a number of awards for her dedication to public service. DOZ Show Episode 113 – Julie Gorman

Julie Gorman is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a Certified Coach, Trainer, and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team. In addition, she is a writer, producer, and host of a weekly Broadcast and founder of His Love Extended Ministries. She is the author of What I Wish My Mother Had Told Me About Men and What I Wish My Mother Had Told Me about Marriage released in 2013 and 2014 respectively. In 2016 and 2018, she co-authored along with her husband the books, Two Are Better than One and Married for a Purpose. Along with her husband she runs the ministry, Married for a Purpose. Julie has spoken to youth, college students, and adults since 1988. Her passion is to minister to the WHOLE person. She is married to her best friend, Greg and they have three children. In this interview Julie shares with us the abuse she suffered as a child and how she moved past that experience to the blessed life she now enjoys. DOZ Show Episode 112 – Valerie Kelso

Valerie Kelso is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. Valerie became pregnant the age of 16 and gave birth to a baby girl. After that her child’s father tried to kill her but was prevented by her father. Valerie allowed the young man to remain in her life and became pregnant at 17 but lost the baby due to him beating her non-stop and causing her water to break at 7 and a half months. She sustained emotional scars and physical wounds from being stabbed with a knife. Years later, she moved to America where she began a new life. At Fort Worth Texas, she attended a massage school where she learnt that through love the body can repair itself. She began to offer massage services and her clientele grew quickly as people in the community began to spread the word about this woman with “healing hands”. In December 2015 the doors to Purple Light Touch Foundation were opened and in 2017 she opened up PLT Massage and Wellness LLC. She now has a 10-room facility, allowing her to offer medical and relaxation massages to both men and women to handle bodies wrapped in pain. She works closely with the Women’s Shelter’s, Churches, Counselling Centres, and other advocates for recovering women and teen girls, demonstrating to women and teen girls there is a touch that changes lives in a good and sometimes great way. Dr. Bernice Patterson is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a psychologist, speaker, consultant, preacher, published author, and trainer. She is, in addition, the founder and CEO of Infinity Consultation Group where she provides training on issues of Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, Self-Care and Burnout Prevention, and Mental Health and Spirituality. She is a highly sought-after speaker inside and outside of the church, and motivates her audience to take a hard and honest look at themselves by asking three questions, “Who do I want to be in this world? Am I doing the work to be that person? If not, what is holding me back?” She has been able to lead people into a deeper understanding of self, and seeks to give voice to the mental and emotional struggles that people commonly face and guide them towards a place of healing and empowerment. Lieutenant Colonel Theresa Bodnar is the guest in this episode of DOZ Show. She is a not only an officer in the United States Army, she is also a certified Army Master Resilience Trainer (MRT), a Positive Psychology Practitioner, Eating Psychology Educator, Author, and aspiring Motivational Speaker. Since obtaining her Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology, Theresa has been able to create a combination of poetry, positive psychology, and eating psychology tools that she wished she knew when she was younger. These tools and ways of thinking have helped her work through depression, body image, and addiction issues. Her book: Get UPP! Understanding Positive Psychology has been described as a fun way to explore positive psychology concepts and stay motivated. Theresa was first introduced to the field of positive psychology in the Army and decided to obtain her Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) program through the Flourishing Center.
