Bad Leaders Trouble Their Homes
Korah, Dathan and Abiram were all heads of their families. In other words, they were leaders. When they rose up against Moses, the leader of the entire congregation, their actions had consequences which, unfortunately, affected the members of their households. The earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up with their houses and all that pertained to them. Their wives and children were punished for their rebellion.
The lesson here is this; when a leader sins, he does not suffer alone. All connected to him suffer with him. A good leader understands this and makes the right choices. A bad leader is consumed with what he wants and fails to see the connection between his actions and the well-being of his household. Therefore, he ends up troubling his household.
Prayer: Father, help me to make decisions that bless my household.
