Scripture Passage: Exodus 16:1-9
The Vision is Quickly Forgotten Amid Challenges
When faced with challenges, people are usually quick to forget the vision. Moses had a vision; it was to free Israel from Egyptian bondage and lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey. The people received the vision with gladness and in spite of the initial challenges with Pharaoh, they were soon free. However, it wasn’t long before they forgot the vision; that they were on their way to a good land, a land that flowed with milk and honey. They began to complain and remember “the good old days” in Egypt which were not so good or they would not have cried to God for deliverance.
The lesson here is this; when challenges arise in the pursuit of vision, as they usually do, people are quick to forget the vision. A good leader must therefore keep the vision constantly before the people.
Prayer: Father, help me to constantly keep the vision before me and before those I lead.
