Scripture Passage: Exodus 32:1-14
A Good Leader Intercedes for the People
As the children of Israel worshipped before the golden calf Aaron had made, God got angry and said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people. Now therefore, let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them and I will make of thee a great nation.” However, Moses pleaded on behalf of the people and the Bible says, “And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.”
The lesson here is this; a good leader truly cares about those he leads and so he will stand in the gap for them and plead their case especially when they are not present to do so themselves. His people can trust him to always put in a good word for them.
Prayer: Father, help me to speak for and not against those I lead.
