Scripture Passage: Exodus 32:1-19
When Angry Do Nothing
Moses was on the mountain for forty days receiving the law from the Lord. This law, God wrote on two tables of stone. The Bible says, “And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, grave upon the table.” However, this good work did not endure. The Bible says, “And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands and brake them beneath the mount.” Eventually, Moses returned to that mount and fasted another forty days and nights to receive a second set of laws, because he acted in blind fury.
The lesson here is this; a leader must learn to first lead self. When you are angry, do nothing or like Moses you may destroy that which you have spent precious time creating.
Prayer: Father, teach me to lead myself at all times.
